Thistle, also known as the “Tumbling Tumbleweed” is an iconic Western plant.  Even though it is despised by many as an “invasive” “exotic”, it is probably the single best rescue plant for our declining desert grasslands.  Better still, its seeds are provided for free by Mother Nature.

Here is an 80-second video on the wonderful response of Tumbleweed to the Keyline subsoil plowing of one of our most intractable dead areas at Circle Ranch.

“I did not expect to find Yeoman’s Keyline mentioned here. Brilliant!!! I took my first Survival Course on Big Bend Ranch State Park. My second was in far northwestern Western Australia on 1,000,000 acre Pyramid Station. I, too, love the dry country. Dryland Restoration Facebook group introduced me to you.”
