Restoring Desert Grasslands: Circle Ranch Jardineros

circle_ranch_jardineros_restoring_grassland

When we use our Yeomans Keyline plow to subsoil and stimulate desert ranges and plants, we take pains not to plow through cholla cactus, armadillo bush, allthorn, sumac, mesquite, and other trees and shrubs. This often leaves untreated spots. These we address with animal impact from cattle, which we move to fresh grass every couple of days. We end each trip in some little spot that we would like them to stomp.

Here is a 2-minute video on Circle Ranch’s gardening crews (jardineros) working in such places.
